It has been an honour for me to be the commander of group Shechem as I know this is a great group that is truly supporting me from behind not because of me or any of us but because of God.

I know from time to time, I will offend some of you all for some reason but I would like to take this time to apologise as it was nothing personal as I do not hate anyone in our group.

To my super members and officers, a number of you all would be committees next year. Remember what you all had learnt this year and apply them accordingly in your new group. Continue to bring new friends and ensure you follow up on your existing friends who are already coming. You are all indeed the best team of officers (Matured Members) I had ever worked with.

To my committees, many of you all had grown so much and I believe 1 or 2 of you all will take up an assistant role next year. Honestly, I rate that our team of committees this is the best because I can see the teamwork and synergy demonstrated in all the events, especially for the carnival. The enthusiasm, initiative and supportiveness shown is indeed obvious.

To my assistants, there are still a lot for you all to learn and equip yourselves with as most of you all are first time assistants. Nevertheless, I could see your undying commitment in spite of the many obstacles along the way. Your presence in the group were felt at all times as members looked up and turn to you all for guidance and advice in anything such as games, preparation for an event, decoration bible homework etc. Again, at least to me, I believe my team of assistants is the best.

To my deputy, many thanks to her as I know she spent countless hours in preparing the banner, badges, decoration for the room, props for our sketches, makeover, apprentice, carnival etc. On top of that, she is always full on initiative and ideas, covering up for my lack of experience and weaknesses. Indeed, she had been a great deputy and again, no one could disagree that she is the best deputy.

To my 2 mentors, many thanks as well on keeping our group united with your spiritual advice and exemplary live. Thank you for being mentors who were also involved not only in the planning and mentoring of the group but also in the execution and activity on Saturdays and Sundays such as Cheerleading, Bible Quiz, Song Fest, Carnival etc. And again, at least to me, you 2 are the best mentors as you lead not by just teaching and commanding but by actions and simply joining us for almost all the activities on Saturday.

Shechem, this year is truly a privilege that I have the honour to lead the best group. I say the best group because each of you all are always giving your best to make this group fun and vibrant. At times, I feel like I am not the commander as I have so much to learn from each of you all and therefore, thank you for each of your patience and guidance as I have learn so much from each of you all.

Lastly, if this year was your best year as well, let us make our new group the new best group. If you think you have served the Lord so much this year, let us serve the Lord even much more at greater heights, as there should be no end to how much we can serve our Lord our God.

So Shechemites, bring this Spirit of Service and Commitment into your new group and join with me in one voice once more: As for me and my HOUSE, we will serve the LORD!!!

Your Commander,

John Lian

4th Dec

Our group is coming to an end.
This Saturday we'll watch a closing video that records our walk from the moment we had caroling during Christmas to the final battle of D-day.
After that, we will have bible passage reading from the commanders and mentors to the committees, officers and members as a continual pledge to God.
And of course, we'll have a time to appreciate each and every one through awards and recognition. Lastly, our commander and deputy are going treat us a dinner (maybe pizza). Hope you will enjoy this very last moment together as one group and one house.
Please don't forget to wear our group t-shirt or black t-shirt with long jeans.
